Jeffery Leving
“Floating Spaces”
August 11 – September 1, 2012
CHICAGO, IL— Noted Chicagoan and visual artist, Jeffery Leving will be featured by Curator William Hill on Saturday, August 11th (4:00 PM) at the William Hill Gallery. Leving’s work can also be viewed on LevingGallery.com.
The exhibition will reveal a unique series of illusionistic spaces where color and surfaces collide and expand into seductive and compelling art forms using visceral mark-making. These images reflect the visual expression of Leving’s innovative aesthetic.
Leving’s art has evolved into a unique acrylic, enamel and oil painting style with mythological content inspired by primitive and surrealistic art. His art fluctuates between representational and abstract modes of expression, capturing the chaotic, disjointed nature of existence.
In regards to Leving’s visual work, Josh Hoff’s writing for International Art Magazine remarked, “If suffering is indeed permanent, obscure, and dark and shares the nature of infinity, then it can be witnessed in two of Chicago attorney artist Jeff Leving’s paintings, both of which were inspired by his involvement in the Elian Gonzalez case.”
Celebrated Actress Queen Latifah recently acquired one of Leving’s paintings –a powerful abstract of Native-American theme, epitomizing Leving’s instinctive brilliance as his work fluctuates between representational and abstract modes of expression, thereby capturing the chaotic and disjointed nature of existence.
Jeffery Leving recently hit #1 on Amazon’s Best Selling Author’s list for his groundbreaking book, Fathers’ Rights. His newly released book, How to Be a Good Divorced Dad, earned praise from President Barack Obama and an endorsement from Francis Cardinal George of the Archdiocese of Chicago.
